Washington, DC: World Resources Institute (2019). ^ a b Climate Analysis Indicators Tool (CAIT), Climate Watch.Land use, land-use change, and forestry.List of countries by renewable electricity production.List of countries by greenhouse gas emissions per person.List of countries by carbon dioxide emissions per capita.List of countries by carbon dioxide emissions.United Kingdom (see: Greenhouse gas emissions by the United Kingdom) Turkey (see: Greenhouse gas emissions by Turkey) Russia (see: Greenhouse gas emissions by Russia)Ĭanada (see: Greenhouse gas emissions by Canada)Īustralia (see: Greenhouse gas emissions by Australia) India (see: Greenhouse gas emissions by India)Įuropean Union (EU28, including the United Kingdom) United States (see: Greenhouse gas emissions by the United States) Production-based emissions excluding land-use, land-use change and forestry(World Resources Institute)Ĭhina (see: Greenhouse gas emissions by China) Production-based emissions INCLUDING land-use, land-use change and forestry (reported to UNFCCC) List of countries by production-based and consumption-based emissions State All countries which are party to the Paris Agreement report their greenhouse gas inventories at least biennially from 2024. ![]() The unit used is megatonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO 2e) using the 100-year time horizon, like the UNFCCC. WRI data includes emissions from land-use, land-use change and forestry, Global Carbon Project data does not. The table below separately provides emissions data calculated on the basis of production, respectively consumption of goods and services in each country. It is based on data for carbon dioxide, methane ( CH 4), nitrous oxide ( N 2O), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), sulfur hexafluoride (SF 6) and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) emissions compiled by the World Resources Institute (WRI). This is a list of countries by total greenhouse gas (GHG) annual emissions in 2016. Please help update this to reflect recent events or newly available information. The reason given is: Consumption-based data needs updating. ![]()
